About the MNBP

The Madison Network of Black Professionals is a diverse group of individuals, interconnected by heritage, education, business, technology and social activities with the purpose of networking and sharing information of interest to African Americans in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Network was established in August 2004 with a group of 20 individuals who had an interest in connecting as professionals to help learn and leverage ourselves as active African Americans in Madison, Wisconsin. Since 2004, we have grown four times that size and plan to celebrate our fifth year in August 2009.

Madison Network of Black Professionals Welcomes You

The purpose of the Madison Network of Black Professionals is to:

- Promote ideas and concepts that impact the African-American community in Madison, Wisconsin.
- Provide awareness of and offer opportunities that are professionally and personally supportive of African-American professionals.

In doing so members are encouraged to feel at home, wanted and proud of the decision made to live and work in Madison, Wisconsin.

Mission

Our purpose is to promote ideas and concepts that impact the African American community positively in Madison, Wisconsin; and to provide awareness of and offer opportunities that are professionally and personally supportive of African American professionals.

Ultimately, we want to encourage people who live in Madison to stay in Madison. We believe by creating a network and outlet for people of color we not only reinforce and support what we each do in our professional lives but more importantly connect on a personal level so that we feel part of the Madison community.

A School Board Candidates Forum, Scott Gray the Urban League CEO, Jennifer Alexander - Madison Chamber President, Mayor Dave, Bob Wynn - Financial Investor and Entrepreneur, LaMarr Billups - Asst. to the Chancellor for UW Madison, Kathleen Falk - Dane County Executive.  Governor Doyle and his cabinet members, Chancellor Wiley from UW Madison, summer picnic in June, professional roundtable in July, Holiday party and roundtable in December.
